The National Institute of Education (NIE) has released a recruitment notice inviting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for permanent posts in Senior Management, Junior Management, and Management Assistant categories. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications via registered post on or before October 23, 2026.

Key Qualifications Required
1. Additional Director General (Senior Manager HM 2-3)
- External Applicants:
- UGC-recognized Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area AND a 2-year research-level Post Graduate Degree in Education. Must have a minimum of 20 years post-graduation managerial experience in Government, Public Corporations, Statutory Boards, or Higher Education Institutions (with at least 8 years at the Senior Managerial level). OR
- UGC-recognized Bachelor’s Degree (or B.Ed) AND a Ph.D. in Education. Must have at least 8 years of excellent service in Senior Managerial Level positions after obtaining the Ph.D.
- Internal Applicants:
- 3 years of satisfactory service as Deputy Director General (HM 2-1) at NIE with proven team leadership and resource deployment capabilities.
2. Technical Officer – Electrical (Junior Manager JM 1-1)
- UGC-recognized Degree in the relevant field; OR
- NVQ Level 7 Certificate of Proficiency in the relevant field; OR
- NVQ Level 6 Certificate of Proficiency with at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- NVQ Level 5 Certificate of Proficiency with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
3. Technical Assistant (Management Assistant – Technical MA 2-2)
- NVQ Level 5 Certificate of Proficiency in the relevant field; OR
- NVQ Level 4 Certificate of Proficiency (if NVQ Level 5 courses are unavailable) along with 10 years of post-qualifying relevant experience.
General Conditions & Remuneration
- Citizenship & Health: Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens, physically/mentally fit, and of excellent moral character.
- Workstation Location: Permanent workstation will be at Maharagama or Meepe.
- Benefits: Selected candidates will be appointed to permanent posts. Contributions include 8% EPF (employee), 12% EPF (institution), and 3% ETF (institution), along with government-approved allowances.
