G.C.E. O/L Examination 2026: Applications Called for School & Private Candidates

The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka, has officially released the media notice calling for applications for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination 2026.

Applications must be submitted online starting from July 3, 2026, until the closing deadline on July 23, 2026.

Key Guidelines for Applicants:

• School Candidates: Applications must be submitted online by the respective School Principals using the usernames and passwords already provided to the schools.
• Private Candidates: Private applicants must apply individually online by following the provided instructions.
• NIC Requirements for Private Candidates: Private candidates must use their National Identity Card (NIC) to apply. Candidates who do not possess a valid NIC must register and apply using the NIC of their parent or legal guardian.

1. Visit the official portals of the Department of Examinations: www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic
2. Read the instructions carefully and fill out the application accurately.
3. Once submitted, download and print a copy of the application form to keep safely for future reference.

Important Notice on Deadlines:

The online portal will close precisely at 12:00 midnight on July 23, 2026. The Department has explicitly stated that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances. Candidates are strongly advised to submit their applications well in advance to avoid last-minute system delays.
